Florencestani separatist are following through with a threat to succeed the province of Florence from Afghani control. Talks over mineral rights in the region have broken down to the point where all Afghani government workers have been expelled from the province. Russian mercenaries have been hired and loyal Florencestani National Guard units have been mobilized to enforce this self declared sovereignty. The fledgling military of Afghanistan can do little to prevent this from happening.
NATO military units are brought in to help quell the situation.
