SAFETY

Safety is always our primary concern.

Blank Firing Weapons – Although these blanks are special blanks that do not eject any paper, they do eject some unburned powder. Therefore these weapons will not be fired at an individual closer than 50ft. Blank firing weapons will be operated by designated staff only.

Eye Protection – ANSI Z 87.1 is the MINIMUM rated eye protection that is acceptable.
Eye protection will be worn at all times when in the play area. It must be put on before entering the play area and must stay on even if the game is over as not all players may know that the game has ended. Do not remove your eye protection if it starts to fog up. Call yourself out and safely remove yourself from the play area to remedy the fogging problem. Should a players eye protection get knocked off during play, the safety call “blind man” should be employed.

Blind Man – Calling “Blind Man” is a safety call to pause the game to allow time to fix or prevent an unsafe situation. If you hear someone call “Blind Man” immediately echo the call so all players will know to cease fire. All players not directly involved with initially calling the cease fire should pause all movement and maintain position.
“Game On” will be the call to resume play. Only the player or players initially involved with calling Blind Man can make the “Game On” call to resume play. The situation may occur where continuing the game is unsafe or not possible.

Boots – Military issue or style boots are required when on the field. Tennis shoes are not authorized in the field.

Mil-sim Weapons and Devices – Only professionally manufactured weapons and devices are allowed. If you are unsure contact staff@combatchallenge.org

Vehicles – All personnel must follow the Vehicle Commanders orders. The vehicle must be at a full stop prior to mounting and dismounting. Enemy personnel can not engage a vehicle any closer than 20ft. If a vehicle comes within 20ft of your position, just get up with your arms in the air and fall back behind your line and reengage.

Special Effects – Certain areas may be declared off limits due to the use of professional pyrotechnics.
